5/24 Stealth game news vs. Bobcats...
The final game much too quickly had arrived last night at Ragle. The Stealth would take the field as a team one last time. Three months of hard work brought the Stealth to this point. A ton of energy and smiles was mixed with sadness as they realized as a group that last night was the end to a magical year. Taking the field first gave the Stealth an opportunity to go the entire season without allowing a run in the first inning. With Hennessee Bishop and Irene Long in the infield to start the game the Stealth did just that. Behind the strong right arm of Taylor Christy and the stellar catching of Haley Millerick the side would go down in order on strikeouts. The bottom of the first brought a new Stealth lineup. Leadoff hitter Gillian Halpin would work a first at bat walk and one of the hottest hitters in the league Irene Long would single her in. Hennessee Bishop would take a ball off of the leg, steal second and come in to score on Taylor Christy's first of 3 hits on the day. Maddi Harbarth would knock in the final run of the inning with a base hit to center. In the second inning Haley Millerick and shortstop Gillian Halpin would eliminate Taylor's only walk with a rocket throw to second and a quick tag, out on the bag. Lacy Colin would lead off the bottom of the inning adding to her hit total on the season. Defense would hold its own as the positions moved around. Haley Jackson would see time holding down the hot corner at third. Haley Millerick would net 2 hits on the day as well as Maddi Harbarth. The Stealth's All Star trio of Maddi, Haley, & Taylor would go 7 for 8 on the day. Last in the lineup hitter Katrina Kuhn singled in runs in the later innings tomahawking a pitch over her head to centerfield. As the late innings of the last game arrived Taylor came out of the game to allow Hennessee Bishop her first time in the circle. Sometimes no warmups are a good thing, it forces you to get ready quick and just do it, no thinking about it. First batter 2 pitches pop out to Gillian at short. A couple of walks, and then a grounder right back to her and then a throw to first for the games final out. No runs, no hits allowed by Hennessee Bishop in her first very nervous outing. It ended just like it started, with all of the girls playing hard, focused, having fun, and making us all very very proud.
A few mind boggling stats for the Stealth this year:
No runs allowed in the first inning all season long. Undefeated in interleague play. 5 shut outs. 14 wins. Three girls batted over .550 on the season (maddi .590, haley .659, taylor .755) 201 runs scored while only allowing 40 all season.

5/24 That One Team with That One Girl vs. Quicksilver...
Peak at the end. A fleeting softball season culminated on the upswing Monday evening as That One Team left it all on the field. With the sun burning through a blanket of cloud to light TOTwTOG’s final engagement with the Quicksilver, fans arrived in abundance to root both squads across the finish line. Ochochangelisti established the tone—steal early, slide often—quickly turning a hit-by-pitch into 3 steals and a run scored. Add to that a sharp double, 8 more looted bags, and 3 more trips across the plate on the day. Lucy “Wheels” Bennett kept the heat on with a sharp liner in the first, adding 3 steals and a run scored. Three Stumptown girls had a pleasant afternoon on offense—Emily “No E” Cheatham contributed 2 hits and 2 runs scored, Saja Spearman-Weaver added 3 hits with a couple of double-shots, and Mougalicious turned 3 walks into 6 steals and a run. HDTV Donovan stole 6 of her own and crossed the plate twice, while Otter Pop Lane reached safely in every appearance, stole 3 and scored 3. Grandma and ka-Ming! know how to thieve, too—5 steals between them, 4 runs scored. Then there’s Fearless Freeman—perfect day at the plate with a hot liner and a run scored. Segue.
Speaking of Fearless and perfection, a One-Team-autographed game ball goes to Freeman for her extraordinary WCSA pitching debut in the 4th—3-up-3-down on 8 pitches—probably should have seen that kid in the circle before this. Never enough innings to satisfy every pitcher though, but they maximized what they got—Ochochangelisti: 4 batters, 2 Ks; Grandma: 5 batters, 1K; Saja: 8 batters, 4 Ks. Other defensive features: ka-Ming! loses the lid and cleanly transforms a foul pop into Out #1 for Cheyenne. Two Quicksilver batters compelled, via Grandma, to pop right back to her. (Why leave the circle unless absolutely necessary?) Solid put-outs from HDTV at 1B and No E Cheatham at 2B—they paired up with aplomb to the last. A Quicksilver’s laser shot looks like its on its way to deep left and—look what I found!—snared overhead by Spearman-Weaver at 3B. Where do the bloopers go to die? They seek the comfort of the glove of Mougalicious, pretty much anywhere on the right side.
We sought evidence of improvement and there it was. A remarkable season comes to a close, with its grins and bruises too suddenly in the rear-view mirror. Many thanks to the One Team family for the sustained effort, love and opportunity. We’ll see you all next year.

5/22 That One Team with That One Girl vs. Stealth...
That One Team took the field in late-season form for a Saturday-morning matchup with a tough opponent—fans saw abundant evidence of both teams’ love and labor for the game. We had us a defense-and-pitching duel early on—4 total base runners for both squads through 3 scoreless innings. Emily “E No E” Cheatham flipped grounders into ground-outs from 2B to a rock-solid Grandma Ming at 1B all day long. Breanna “Otter Pop” Lane made a snazzy to-end-the-inning catch of a high fly ball, and Mougalicious followed up to rob the same batter of a hard shot to RF two innings later. Notable stab: Mack Chan-gelisti’s snare of a hot grounder moving the opposite way at SS. All of this backed up Saja Spearman-Weaver’s 6 innings in the circle—she finished with 10Ks on the day, thanks in part to ka-Ming! behind the plate, framing and bouncing as per her usual performance. On the offensive side, TOTwTOG got solid work in the batter’s box from HDTV, who battled through tough pitch counts, No E Cheatham, who alertly arrived on base after a dropped third strike, as well as Fearless Freeman and Curly Wheels Bennett, both of whom defended their plate to the last. Ocho put the pipe on the pill for a single, then scored from second on the first of Saja’s two hits on the day. In the end, a spirited game with a worthy opponent, and not a technicality in sight. But the battle for Most Improved Team is one we’ve been waging all season long, and Saturday keeps us in the running.

5/22 Stealth game news vs. One Team...
The final Saturday of the 2010 softball season was upon us, the end to a magical year for the Stealth was drawing far to close for the girls. Cooler temperatures apparently kept our regularly scheduled umpire at home, as a replacement was called in from Rohnert Park. The Stealth remained focused on the task in front of them until the ump arrived. After a 40 minute delay the Stealth would take the field first to defend the home field. Missing regular shortstop Katrina Kuhn, Gillian Halpin would be asked to step up and control in infield. Taylor Christy got the game started as she always does striking three of the four batters in the top of the first with a mix of fastball, riseballs, and a couple knee buckling change ups. Saturday marked the 13th game in a row in which the Stealth did not allow a run in the first inning, a remarkable statistic. Crisp pitching and solid defense from the opposition saw the Stealth kept off of the scoreboard for the first 3 innings. With runners on base in each of the first 3 innings, the Stealth were unable to push them across home plate. Taylor and Haley would be asked to keep match the zeros on the scoreboard until the pressure of the Stealth would break through. Taylor would strike out 8 in a row giving the Stealth what they needed. With the top of the Stealth order held hitless through the first 3 innings, the middle of the order would pick them up in the 4th. Lacy Colin and Hennessee Bishop would work walks to put Stealth runners on the bases, setting the stage for Irene Long. With the count 1-2 Irene would send a line drive back up the middle to score the first run. Clutch RBI from Irene. In the fifth inning the third time through the top of the order the Stealth finally broke through. Taylor Christy sent a hot shot to shortstop and beat it out down the firstbase line. A steal of secondbase one pitch later gave Maddi Harbarth a runner in scoring position. Maddi would not disappoint, slapping a single to right for an RBI. Haley Millerick would provide a sacrifice fly to center scoring the second run of the inning. 3 runs for T-Minus 99 is usually enough. A late inning scare brought momentary doubt into the Stealth's minds as All Star catcher Haley Millerick took a fastball fouled off of her knee cap missing the leg guard and hitting the bone. To know one in attendances surprise Haley took a minute, composed herself, rubbed some dirt on a hideous bruise and got right back in the box. Taylor would get her off of the field and to the ice bag quickly ending the inning with 2 more K's. With the 7th and final inning upon us the Stealth defense would be asked to step up. Acting like it was the first inning not the seventh they did just that. Gillian Halpin snatched up a line drive at short and fired to first for the first out. Maddi Harbarth would go to the backhand and toss to first for the second out. Lacy Colin would charge the games final ball, pick it up and tag out the runner halfway up the first base line for the final out. Total team effort against a tough, game opponent. Taylor on the day, 7 innings, 1 walk, 3 hits, 17 K's. One more time for the Stealth Monday night at Ragle.

5/20 Stealth game news vs. Mark West Strikers...
The game that everyone really wanted to see happened last night. A huge crowd featuring many of the West County board members came to watch the Stealth take on the Mark West Strikers. The Stealth's crack field prep team of Ed Millierick and Kevin Soriano made quick work of the field following the Analy JV game moments before. The trend of never allowing a run in the first inning continued as Taylor Christy baffled the top of the Strikers order with a mix of fastballs, change ups, and drops. Lacy Colin gobbled up a spinning grounder before it went foul for a clutch out to close out the first. Taylor would again lead of the game on the first pitch with a single to left. She would see herself stranded at third and then get doubled off the bag on a base running error. 0-0 after the first, uncharted territory for the Stealth. With Taylor in the circle and Haley behind the plate the game was under control. Taylor would strike out 9 in a row over the next 3 innings. Solid pitching from the Strikers kept the middle and bottom of the Stealth order guessing at the plate.
With the score tied at zero in the bottom of the third with 2 outs, the Stealth mounted a rally. Megan Halpin worked a nine pitch at bat for a walk, stole secondbase and set the table for T-Minus 99 to help her own cause. She would seize the opportunity smashing a fastball back up the middle, Megan was running on the pitch score easily for the games first run. Taylor would steal her way to third, Maddi worked a clutch 2 out walk. Haley Millerick would come up huge again with 2 outs and 2 strikes doubling to left scoring 2. 3-0 after 3 innings. The Stealth would tack on another when Hennessee Bishop who worked a walk would steal home on a ball by the catcher with a great slide under the tag. 4-0 might as well have been 15-0. Taylor and the Stealth defense would step up in the late innings as the Strikers fought hard. Lacy Colin would snatch 3 grounders and hustle back to first for outs. Haley would keep everything in front of her and frame pitches to give the ump a better look. Taylor would close it out in the first full 7 inning game of the year. Taylor on the day 7 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk, 15 K's against the Strikers. The Stealth would finish the interleague season UNDEFEATED against out of west county competition. Two games left for the 2010 Stealth. A well earned day off today, then back at it Saturday

5/19 That One Team with That One Girl vs. Bobcats...
April showers, May showers—what exactly is the deal? That One Team’s second consecutive square-off against the Bobcats was threatened by weather, but ultimately both teams responded with some fantastic play in the chilly mist of a Wednesday afternoon. Grandma Ming stepped up to open the game in the circle, facing 10 batters in 2 innings with 2Ks and no hits—aggressive, cool, fantastic! Otter Pop Lane keeps slapping shots to the outfield—nice little hit streak she’s got going. Ditto Lucy “Curls” Bennett—no shortage of speed on that kid. If you see her on first, chances are you’ll see her on third shortly thereafter. Mougalicious’s return from Big Sky Country found her stealing her way around the base paths on two occasions—she and Fearless Freeman looted 4 bags between them. Defensive Play of the Day goes to HDTV Donovan at 3B—an on-her-knees sliding snag of an infield blooper to rob a Bobcat run. There were other nominees—Saja Spearman-Weaver snared a hot liner 8 feet above 1B and held runners in check, then stole an out on a foul pop near the on-deck circle (her rip to LF, I believe, also merits comment), while Emily E3 Cheatham turned multiple hot-shots to 2B into routine 4-3 put-outs (BTW, she drove runs in with bats-on-the-ball in every appearance). Mack E Chan entered the circle in the third to throw 6 Ks and only 2 walks in 3 innings, while she and battery partner (both positive—how does that work?) Ka-Ming both reached safely in each of their 8 plate opportunities and both stole around to score nearly half of TOTwTOG’s runs. Much appreciated.
Congratulations to That One Team’s 2010 All-Stars, selected by their teammates and the league coaches: Mackenzie Evangelisti, Kaiya Ming, Madison Ming, and Saja Spearman-Weaver.
Next up: dust-up with Stealth on Saturday morning, and season finale vs. Quicksilver on Monday night.

5/15 Stealth game news vs. Quicksilver...
As the seasons end begins to draw closer the Stealth continue to grow and improve in every aspect of the game. The girls continue to practice with the same enthusiasm as they did in March. Their on field focus and commitment is remarkable. All of that was once again on display for everyone to see on Saturday afternoon. Only pitching 2 innings on Wednesday night allowed Taylor plenty of innings on Saturday. She would make the most of them. Striking out the side in the first once again allowed the Stealth a chance to get the early lead. Not one time this season have the Stealth allowed their opponents a run in the first inning. The Stealth have scored in the first in every game, Saturday would be no different. Taylor Christy would single to lead off the game, Maddi Harbarth beat out a dropped third strike with fantastic game awareness, Haley Millerick would knock them both in with a single back up the middle. Megan Halpin would single in runs as well. With runs to work with Taylor is hard to deal with. She would continue to throw strikes and net K's for her work. In the second inning Taylor, Maddi, and Haley would all hit safely and the hot hitting Irene Long would single in runs. Irene has hit safely in each of the last 3 game going 6-10 over that span. Hennessee Bishop would lay down a perfect bunt and beat it out finding her way on base. The Stealth batters would see the opportunity to work on their bunt skills, they would attempt 11 bunts on the afternoon. Quick feet out of the batters box coupled with alert base running allowed for saw Stealth runners pass home plate. Even power hitting Haley Millerick would be asked to bunt, which of course she did and was safe at first as well. Gillian Halpin continued her hit streak now at 7 games in the later innings with an RBI single. Maddi Harbarth again bunted safely giving her 4 bunt singles on the season. Taylor Christy would go 4-4 on the day, she is 9-9 in the last 2 games. Haley Millerick would hit and bunt safely 4 times on the day as well. At this point in the season the girls are all dialed in, they don't even need base coaches for the most part. They know exactly what to do and when to do it. Taylor on the day in only a 4 inning game struck out 12 of the 13 batters she faced, allowing only 1 hit and walking none. Our final inter league battle is this Thursday at Analy vs. Mark West, then two west county games to close out the regular season.

5/12 That One Team with That One Girl vs. Quicksilver...
Wednesday at Ragle Park Big Field was a barnburner—no free bobbleheads or TOTwTOG wearable-blanket giveaways, but the crowd left the ball park satisfied nonetheless. Grandma Ming managed the One Team duties from the circle for three full, composed innings, gaining steam as she progressed. She ended the 2nd inning with a strikeout followed by a nice snare of a looper to her barehand side (and earned 4 RBIs at the plate, including 3 on one monstrous triple). Every One Team runner found herself on the base paths at least twice, led by Ochovangelisti (with 4 runs scored on 3 walks, a HBP and an attempt to uproot the plate with her kneecap on one steal of home). Much praise to Lucy “Wheels” Bennett who knocked two very satisfying shots to the grass and ably held down 3B, and to E Cheatham for a rip of her own, a run scored and sharp focus at 2B. Thanks to 10U Amelia Benjamin for her patience in CF and at the plate—2 walks and 2 runs in for her WCSA 12U debut. Otter Pop Lane arrived already warm from the hardwood in Windsor to knock in 1 and score 2 of her own. Fearless Freeman had a busy day in LF, as the Quicksilver hitters kept finding the sweet spot, but she held them at bay on multiple occasions, and swung the pipe to advance TOTwTOG runners in every plate appearance. HDTV’s a true teammate—arrived late but supportive after her hoops tourney. Ka-Ming! looks all zenned up at the plate—virtuous patience earned her 2 hits, 2 walks and 4 RBIs, busy day for the catcher. Saja Spearman-Weaver had 3 RBIs on the day, and came late to the circle with TOTwTOG down by one in the top of the 4th with 7 minutes to strike out 3 in a row and extend the game. TOTwTOG had one more chance to come from behind, but solid Quicksilver defense in the top of the 5th held That One Team to scoring only the tying run, and a couple of strong at-bats in the bottom of the inning brought in the one the Quicksilver needed. Heckuva game—15-14 Quicksilver.
Bobcats on Saturday, then one more round through the WCSA 12U division—let’s finish strong and happy, or happy and strong, depending on your preference.

5/12 Stealth game news vs. Bobcats...
Wednesday nights matchup vs. the Bobcats started with a positive sign, an on time ump. The last game between the teams saw the umpire getting the game started 45 minutes late. Once again the Stealth would see themselves shorthanded, with Gillian, Megan, and Haley missing the Stealth would need to enlist the skills of 10-Under player Laney Klunis. Laney was welcomed into the Stealth fold without hesitation by the 7 Stealth players. Younger players would need to step up and play positions they may have been unfamiliar with. Hennessee Bishop and Irene Long would split time at third base with Hennesse getting the start. Laney Klunis coming up from 10's would start in centerfield as one of only two outfielders. Scoring early is the number one priority at game time for the Stealth. First inning saw 11 batters come to the plate, 8 hits and 2 walks were the result. Taylor Christy led off the game and singled on the second pitch her first of 2 hits in the inning. Maddi Harbarth would lay down a perfect bunt to bring in a run. Haley Millerick would bring in two with a two strike double to left. Irene Long would continue her hot streak with a single. Lacy Colin who would take the pitching circle later in the evening notched her first of 3 hits on the day in the first. Taylor and Haley would provide the goods in the first inning on defense striking out the side with the final K coming on a sharp fouled third strike gloved by Haley behind the dish. Second inning brought the middle of the order up to do their damage. Haley M. would again single with two strikes, Hennessee and Laney would walk to load the bases. Taylor would bring them in with a line shot to center. Taylor would end the day 5-5 at the plate. Katrina Kuhn would later add a bases loaded double to her stat sheet. Taylor would K the side in the bottom of the second. That would be it in the circle for T-minus on the day. 2 innings 6 K's, 0 walks. Lacy Colin would pitch the rest of the game. In the third inning Laney Klunis would get into the hit parade with an RBI single to right bringing in Irene Long on a close play at the plate. 1-2 with 2 walks in a 12-Under game for Laney Klunis coupled with some of the best base running that the Stealth coaching staff has ever seen, that kid's got a future. Lacy Colin would lay down a clean bunt single up the third base line, and Maddi would bring her in with an outfield single in her final at bat. Lacy Colin calm in the circle for really the first time in over 2 years would strike out the first batter she faced and then allow her defense to back her up. Taylor playing first base gobbled up two grounders to first for outs. Haley Millerick chased down balls that got by and tagged runners out trying to sneak home. Lacy would go 2 innings and notch 3 K's while controlling the game. Wednesday saw younger players step up and show that next season's 12-Under season will be a good one. Gillian and Megan showing what teammates are all about would make it to the game in basketball uniforms to support the team. Back to work Friday for practice and Saturday at high noon vs. the Quicksilver.

5/8 Stealth game news vs. Sonoma...
Odd scheduling saw the Stealth roll to Sonoma by themselves, as the only west county team on the road Saturday. In past years when the conversation of playing inter league games came up the standard feeling was that "those teams are really good" it may still be that way for some but not for the Stealth. We know what we bring, we bring hits, runs, and a lot of K's. Saturday was no different as an 8 girl Stealth squad descended on Stone field. Once again scoring in the first to give 99 the cushion that she needs to close it down. Haley Millerick would single her way on with two down, clean up hitter Katrina Kuhn would send her home on a two out double to centerfield. With only the smallest of leads the Stealth would take the field, but only for a bit as T-Minus 99 would strike out the side in about 2 minutes also putting a quick stop to the rehearsed cheering from the opposing dugout. Taylor would continue that K streak for 5 complete innings striking out a ridiculous 15 straight Sonoma hitters. Stealth hitters would break the game open in the third inning as Taylor, Maddi, and Haley would all hit safely and score. Irene Long getting her dream shot, moving up to fifth in the lineup would go 4-4 on the day including a crisp single to left in the third knocking in 2 runs. Hennesse Bishop would continue the rally beating out an infield roller for a single. As the game continued the Stealth would continue to hold the lead with zeros on the Sonoma scoreboard. Fifth inning Gillian Halpin extended her hit streak to 6 games, she had 3 hits on the day. Taylor would notch her second hit of the day, Maddi Harbarth would get her third hit, Haley M. her second, Katrina her second double, you get the idea I think. 19 hits on the day from the 8 girl Stealth squad. Haley Millerick as always flawless behind the plate, calling pitches, framing 3rd strikes and controlling the game with timely trips to the rubber. Taylor on the day 6 innings, 17 K's, 1 walk , 2 hits. With no team sign hanging the Sonoma team didn't know what to cheer, so as Stealthfully as we entered we left. Back to work Wednesday from a home game at Analy.

5/8 That One Team with That One Girl vs. Sonoma...
Saturday morning found the Sonoma Gators rolling in to Analy JV for That One Team’s final interleague game of the season, and home cooking apparently makes for hotter hitters. A blur of scoring highlights: Ochovangelisti fell one home run short of hitting for the cycle, finishing her day at the plate with the longest TOTwTOG triple of the too-short season. Emily Cheatham kept the fuel in her hit machine, too, with an RBI and visibly improving focus at the plate. Grandma Ming roped a long ball to the grass, and Saja Spearman-Weaver nailed two shots over the head of the Gator LCFs (including a two-strike double at the end of a ‘Happy Birthday’ serenade from the dugout). Running for a sore HDTV, Fearless Freeman stole home in the late innings, as did Otter Pop Lane who bowled over the pitcher in the process—sliding’s preferred, but nice wheels! Lucy Bennett was robbed of a single by a nice play at 2B, but that bat’s apparently calibrating to peak at the right time. On the D side: Still playing with a sore back, first-baseman HDTV paired up with second-baseman Mougalicious to conjure no fewer than four 4-3 putouts. ka-Ming! was her usual bouncy-as-all-git-out self behind the dish, holding Gator runners in check with solid throws and even more solid stare-downs. The circle belonged to Saja, with 14 Ks and 4 BBs to put on the birthday cake. 15-3 victory and thus endeth the interleague showdowns.

5/7 That One Team with That One Girl at Rohnert Park...
With a full roster assembled for the first time in weeks, That One Team traveled to sunny Eagle Field in Rohnert Park for a Friday afternoon face-off with the Ducks. Cold bats for two innings against strong pitching had That One Team looking a little shell-shocked, and the Ducks taught us a thing or two early on about aggressive base running. Egad!—Down 5-0 after two. In keeping with history, however, the One Team woke like a 10-headed monster in the top of the third, led off by the first of Emily Cheatham’s two hits on the day, a high shot past SS that dropped into long grass in front of a scrambling left fielder. HDTV followed with a walk, then Mackeochochan doubled them both home—5-2. Newly healthy Grandma Ming worked a full count into a walk, Saja doubled her in on a hanging change-up, and ka-Ming! ripped a liner to 3B to score one more—5-4. Three walks in a row to Fearless Freeman, Otter Pop Lane and Mougalicious brought in two more, and suddenly it’s a 6-5 lead. OchoChan had another noteworthy day of poise, accuracy and patience in the circle—22 batters with 4 Ks and 4 BBs (I know, right?)—and ka-Ming! kept her end of the battery juiced with at least three pick-offs on the day. Other bright spots: Mougalicious got the job done at 2B with little flicks to HDTV at first, Grandma made a fantastic stab of a laser to SS and a terrific pickoff tag at second, and Lucy Bennett bounced behind Harriett with regularity to keep any 1B overthrows under control. However, the Duck base runners transformed any slight TOTwTOG mistake into advantage, regaining the lead 8-7 in the final frame. Nonetheless, a strong effort on a weekday interleague travel game, and more opportunity to focus up 16 hours later…

5/3 Stealth game news vs. Santa Rosa...
A long awaited much needed return to interleague play arrived Monday evening as an 80 degree evening and a much hyped Santa Rosa team would attempt to slow down the 2010 Stealth. Crisp, focused warmups led the coaching staff to think that good things were going to happen. In every single game of the season so far the Stealth have scored in the first and held the opponents scoreless paving the way for victories. Monday evening the Stealth would get first crack at the scoreboard. With the 1-2-3 hitters in the lineup, Taylor Christy, Haley Millerick and Maddi Harbarth hitting a ridiculous 51-71 (.718) the Stealth would see the scoring early trend continue. T-Minus 99 would break in the new bat with a rip to center on the games first pitch, Maddi would single on the third pitch knocking in a run, Haley Millerick destroyed the next pitch to deep left for an RBI double. Scoring in the first accomplished giving Taylor 3 runs to work with isn't a good plan for the opposition. 3 up 3 down in the bottom of the first all K's. Game Over?? Second inning gave the bottom of the order a chance to set the table for the top. Hennesse Bishop and Haley Jackson waited out walks, riding a 4 game hit streak Gillian Halpin would single to load the bases for Tay and Maddi who would both deliver RBI hits. Two more K's in the bottom of the 2nd got it started, catcher Haley Millerick would close it out chasing down a ball that got by her, and hustling back to the plate and diving on the sliding runner for the out. The Stealth would pause though as Haley was slow to get up with a shoulder injury. In true catcher form no time was missed though, as expected from Haley. Singles from Lacy Colin and Irene Long would put Stealth runners on base but they would remain stranded as bats fell silent for a moment. As the run limit innings passed the Stealth would continue to pour it on. Taylor and Maddi would each notch their third hit of the day to start the barrage, Haley hit the longest fouled ball in the history of 12-Under softball only to double to right on the next pitch scoring runs. Katrina Kuhn would join the hit parade knocking in runs with a single. Lacy Colin and Gillian would single in runs. New pitcher for Santa Rosa saw 3 hit batters in only 8 pitches. Runs, runs, and more runs in the fifth inning. Taylor with a massive run lead wouldn't take her foot of the gas striking out 2 and Maddi would close it out with a grab of a soft pop up to second base. Tay on the day 5 innings pitched, 13 K's, 2W, 2H. Road trip successful, practice Wed & Fri. and back to claim Sonoma's home field as our own once again this Saturday.

5/1 Stealth game news vs. That One Team...
Happy Birthday to T-Minus 99, 13 years old on the day. Saturday brought a rematch of the opening day game as the Stealth would take on That One team. On the season the Stealth have scored in the first inning in every game. Getting the lead is key for the Stealth. Saturday would be no different as Haley Millerick would work her way on base with a walk and score with a quick thinking steal of home on a ball by the catcher. Lots of strikes to swing at but the bats mostly rested on girls shoulders in the first. Taylor Christy taking the circle celebrated her birthday by striking out the side for a quick bottom of the inning. Second inning saw Gillian Halpin notch the first hit of the day with a solid base hit up the middle. She would steal her way to third but be stranded there as strikes went by Stealth batters. In the bottom of the second Maddi Harbarth would remain cool and calm on a sharp grounder to her at second base with a throw to Lacy Colin at first for the out. Two more strikeouts would follow in quick fashion. Haley Jackson would wait out a walk to put a runner on with no outs in the top of the third. Haley Millerick would rope a 2 out single up the middle knocking in a run. Bottom of the third saw a solid liner to deep right field off of a One team bat, Hennesse Bishop simply ranged back and over to her right and snared a sure extra base hit for an out raising the crowd to its feet. Taylor Christy would back the grab up with two more strikeouts to end the inning. Twins Megan and Gillian Halpin would work their way on to base with patient walks.
The trend of watching strikes at the plate continued in the fourth as the Stealth would leave a pair of runners on base. Bottom of the fourth saw the trend continue as Taylor kept hitters at bay with a mix of fastballs and change ups striking out the side. A top of the fifth 2 out rally was started as Tay would walk and then go to third on a clutch 2 out single by Maddi Harbarth. Haley Millerick again up with runners on and 2 outs would blast a liner to centerfield scoring runs. As the bottom of the fifth inning started the outs per week that a pitcher can pitch rule would come into play. Taylor had reached the maximum outs per week and was forced out of the circle. Back up pitchers Gillian and Lacy would throw strikes and the defense would play hard but it wasn't enough to keep the lead. As just enough runs crossed the plate the Stealth would see their 7 game win streak and dream of the perfect season come to an end. The Stealth as always gave their collective best and were as gracious in defeat as they are in victory. The true test of a good team is how they respond to a loss. The Stealth will go on the road Monday evening to Santa Rosa to see if they can work out their frustrations on an inter league squad.

4/28 That One Team with That One Girl at Mark West Strikers...
Battling injury and illness, That One Team took a baby-step back after Sunday’s two steps forward. Solid defense from the Strikers turned too many would-be hits into too-quick outs, though Mack E. Chan pitched a full 5-inning game with poise, confidence and 6Ks to show for it. Ka-Ming, nursing a sprained wrist, still managed to swat one deep into right—easy triple, but a sharp throw and rock-solid play at catcher got her trying to make something happen at the plate. Saja’s first game in the gear was solid, and she rapped a deep shot of her own and a late-inning foul-line bloop to keep TOTwTOG’s hopes alive. How about that glove in CF? That’d be Otter Pop Lane nonchalantly turning two long balls into two long outs. Lucy Bennett’s swing is on the rise, E3 Cheatham stole around after a HBP to tie the game early, and an ailing Grandma Ming turned her 3rd-inning walk into a run in the same manner. Fearless Freeman read the signs right, but a nice bunt attempt was warped into an out after MW’s catcher dove underneath. Similarly robbed, Mougalicious had a nice 4th inning shot to 3B, but solid defense snuffed what would have been a rally-starter. No matter—out with the bad air, in with the good. Rising to the competition on Saturday vs. Stealth.

4/28 Stealth game news vs. Bobcats...
Even without a drop of rain in sight, the Stealth's Wednesday game was almost rained out. Warmed up and ready to get on the field no umpire could be found. Quick thinking from Analy JV coach Jolene Coons with a phone number to the Northern Ca. umpiring chief found the ump on his way. Thanks to all of the Stealth fans for sticking around through the wind and cold to support the girls. Nervous energy while waiting for the umpire turned into focused attention when he did arrive. Game time 6:45. The Stealth would take the field first as the home team. Taylor Christy would make the top of the first a quick one throwing only 11 pitches to strike out the side getting the Stealth out of the cold and up to the plate. With memories of quiet bats from Monday fresh in their mind the lineup would create a lot of noise in the first. Taylor Christy doubled on the first pitch of the game, a ridiculously hot hitting Maddi Harbarth would knock her in with a double on the second pitch. After taking a ball of the head during the second round of warm ups, Haley Millerick would double, making her head feel a little bit better. Irene Long smashed a single to left knocking in two runs. Irene would prove aggressive on the bases as well with a steal of home on a short wild pitch just past the catcher. The Stealth would bat around in the first. Similar results on defense in the second inning with strikeouts mixed with 2 great throws from catcher Haley Millerick to shortstop Katrina Kuhn to nail one stealing runner and almost a second one. Taylor Christy controlled the outfield with shouts of encouragement for Gillian in the circle and a rocket throw to first from left center to first just missing a highlight reel throw for an out. At bat once again Maddi would notch her second double of the day setting the stage for Haley to hit. She patiently this time waited out her pitch, finding it and destroying it to DEEP left field. Longest ball hit this season by far. Moving up to the five spot for the first time, Megan Halpin would beat out an infield single. Lacy Colin giving the bottom of the order some pop, would bring Megan in with a single her first of two hits on the day. Gillian Halpin knocked in runs with a double of her own. Much improved base running was critical to the Stealth Wednesday night. The girls always work hard, never question the coaches, remain focused, and are always having fun, for that a much deserved Friday off from practice. Back at it Saturday morning vs. that one team.

4/26 Stealth game news vs. Bobcats...
A clear Monday evening gave the Stealth a chance to get in an early season rain out. Special thanks to Tom Kearns and the 14's for moving their practice to Ragle on short notice to let us play at Analy JV. A new opponent for the Stealth brought on 4 very uncharacteristic innings at the plate and on the bases especially. The Stealth number one goal is the get the lead and protect the lead from the outset. Taylor Christy would single in the first, her first of two hits on the day, bringing her early season hit total to 14. One of the hardest outs in the league, Maddi Harbarth would walk. Haley Millerick would line in a headfirst sliding Taylor. Base running miscues would lead to a quick trip back to the dugout in the first with only the one run. While base running and hesitant bats were a different story on offense, the story was the same from the pitching circle. 3 up 3 down all K's in the first. Irene Long showed good patience at the plate waiting out 3 walks on the day. Haley Jackson would ground out but net an important RBI in the 3rd inning. The Stealth would see runners on base constantly throughout the game but decisions on whether to slide or not, running on pop ups, simple mistakes would plague the girls for the better part of four innings. All the while Taylor and Haley would keep the most important part of softball on point. Untouchable fastballs mixed with crippling change ups, and perfect work behind the plate protected the lead. In the fifth inning the Stealth seemed to wake up a bit and begin to tighten everything up. Maddi Harbarth would single twice in the inning, giving her 3 hits on the day. Megan Halpin beat out an infield single for her second hit and RBI of the day. Haley Millerick would notch a 2 run single. Taylor kept the rally alive with 2 outs with a single of her own. Gillian would steal her way around the bases and score. As 7:30pm approached T-Minus 99 would close it out with another 3 up 3 down all K's. Pitching line on the night 5 Innings pitched, 15 K's, 1 walk, 1 hit batter, 1 hit. Weather permitting a we will play again on Wednesday night.

4/25 That One Team with That One Girl, Mark West Tournament...
At a one-day tourney designed to promote bat-swinging and dives into the dirt—the Mark West Pitching Machine Tournament at Piner High—That One Team dialed up the volume throughout the day to arrive at a 1st-place finish at the end of a 5-game, 8-hour marathon. With temperatures in the high 70s, every available ice pack and water bottle was depleted by 5:00. Fearless Freeman’s day was all about the hits—7 for 11, zero K’s. Many thanks to the Bobcats for the loaners—Crystal Gevas held down 3B all day with sharp throws for outs and a hit a couple of 2-out rally-makers, while Lexi Harris tamed the long balls in the outfield before they could go feral. Grandma Ming gutted this one out—pale as a sheet after battling fever and illness, but she managed a nice knock late in Game 4 to keep the hits rolling. MackEOchoChan exemplified cool leadership and heady play at SS, creating outs from flies, one-hoppers, dingers—she ain’t picky. Ka-Ming! enjoyed 31 innings in catcher’s gear, racked up 9 hits and inspired TOTwTOG with late-game, late-inning layouts. Ten hits for Saja and all gravity on D—neither sharp liner nor dribbler could escape her circle. E3 Cheatham returned from a bad-ankle DNP in Game 3 to knock in the first run of Game 4, while Lucy Bennett’s Game 5 bloop over the infield was foiled only by luck and a too-tall first baseman. HDTV Donovan’s consistency at 1B made the job look as simple as brushing your teeth (straightforward, fundamentally important, minty). Finally, Happy Birthday to Mougalicious, who began her next trip around the sun with a sunny day at the plate (#99< was 3 for 3 in Game 3 for you numerologists) and created some fundamental outs of her own at 2B. Shiny little trophies all-around.
Next up, Mark West Strikers at Piner on Thursday, Stealth on Saturday.

4/19 Stealth game news vs. Quicksilver...
Monday night the Stealth would come to Analy JV racing the coming rain. Excitement was in the air for the Stealth as the 12-Under pitching debut of one Gillian Halpin was on the horizon. T-Minus 99 would remain on ready 5 with Gillian in the circle. Before she could throw a pitch the Stealth bats had work to do. As the visitor we would bat first with the intent to give Gillian a cushion to work with. Taylor Christy would once again lead off with a massive double to centerfield. Haley Millerick would notch a 2 run triple in the first inning. The hottest hitter in the league Katrina Kuhn would follow with a two run HOME RUN to the deepest part of centerfield. Backing up her cause Gillian Halpin would single in a run and then steal home later in the inning. With a lead Gillian could relax, throw strikes, and let the infield make the plays. 3 up 3 down in the first, so much for nerves on her part. Taylor playing third base when not flaming, would snare to grounders and fire to first for outs, and Gillian would get the third out herself fielding and throwing to first.
Top of the order in the second inning saw similar results, bats were awake and ready to do damage. Maddi Harbarth would notch another base hit, Haley Millerick would walk, and then of course Katrina Kuhn would deliver a 2 run double to right. Megan Halpin helped her sisters cause with a 2 run single of her own. Second inning in the circle led to similar results for Gillian, 3 ground outs and only 2 runs, solid. Bottom of the order struggles led to no runs for the high powered Stealth in the top of the 3rd. After almost no rest the Stealth would return to defense and have "one of those innings" balls were kicked around the infield, throws flew over covering fielders heads, balls stayed in the outfield instead of coming in. One highlight in the inning was seen as Haley Millerick chased down a wild pitch, hustled back to block the plate on a steal of home attempt. Collision at the plate, what's the call, OUT. Fantastic hustle on Haley's part. As the Stealth bats continued the onslaught a familiar pop could be heard from behind the dugout as T-Minus 99 warmed up. Exhausted from blocking balls behind the plate Haley Millerick would notch her 3rd hit of the day. Lacy Colin would triple in 2 runs and Megan Halpin would drive in another with a single. With Taylor in the circle for the final 2 innings the Stealth defense would be allowed to calm down. Taylor would notch 5 strikeouts in 2 innings work, allowing no hits in relief. Game ball to Gillian Halpin. A week of off with practices Wednesday and Friday, then a return action next Monday night vs. the Berry Best.

4/17 Stealth game news vs. Quicksilver...
Saturday at High noon the Stealth would return to West County game action after 2 interleague wins last week. The Stealth would start the game exactly the same as the first 3. Pitching and Defense would end any thoughts of runs against the Stealth in the 1st. 1 strikeout, 1 groundout, and 1 picked off runner at 3rd base with a quick tag by Gillian Halpin. The goal as always is runs in the 1st inning, get the lead and protect the lead. Taylor Christy would lead off with a second pitch line drive to center that was held to a single by the tall grass. She would steal home on a Maddi Harbarth walk 4 pitches later. Walks would load the bases for Lacy Colin to knock in a couple with a single. In the second inning Taylor Christy would begin a string of 8 batters up all down on 8 K's. Taylor would double in the second inning, Maddi would walk and then something that I have never seen happened. The Quicksilver would choose to intentionally walk Haley Millerick without ever seeing her hit a ball.
Katrina Kuhn would make that decision a bad one with a 3 run double. The third inning saw the Stealth with text book base running with coaching from Joe & Kevin, helping runners advance aggressively. After a third hit by T-Minus 99, Maddi Harbarth would put down a perfect bunt single, another intentional walk to Haley M. gave Katrina another chance for RBI's, she would notch her second hit of the day, a single to left. Megan Halpin would keep a long inning going by easily beating out a dropped third strike and stealing 3 bases including home for a run. Maddi Harbarth would take a pitch at her head to deep right for an RBI single.
A little bit of shaky D in the final inning saw 3 runs cross the plate.
The first runs against the Stealth since opening day, proving that there is always work to do. T-Minus 99 on the day, 4 innings 10 K, 2 W, 2 Hits.
The Stealth will take the field again Monday evening against the Quicksilver again.

4/13, 4/17 That One Team with That One Girl – Games 4 & 5...
Tuesday evening brought the Mark West Strikers to town with a flurry of question marks: What sort of pitching would we see? Would That One Team’s defense return to form? What is ‘Mark West’ exactly, anyway? (Answers: Solid pitching. Sharp defense. And “an unincorporated community immediately north of Santa Rosa” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_West,_California) Mack E. “Ocho” Chan opened the game by hurling K’s to 2 of the first 4 Strikers, then led off the bottom of the inning with a HBP, steals of second and third, and a run scored on Kaiya “Ka-Ming!” Ming’s hard shot. Top of 2, Grandma Ming snagged a hard liner moving to her left at SS and made the throw look routine, then Mack covered the plate on a passed ball and suddenly that one Striker’s attempted steal of home wasn’t such a hot idea. On the offensive side: Lucy Bennett’s acumen on the bases got her to 2B on a steal and quickly home thereafter, E-Three Cheatham’s bunt stunts messed with the defensive set, and Otter Pop Lane took a pitch in the side with no ill effect then stole second. Saja sent a hard shot well into RF: she, Chan, and Ka-Ming combined to go 6 for 6 with 3 walks. Defensive highlights: Mougalicious snatched a fly ball out of the air at 2B, LF Fearless Freeman kept the ball in front of her and runners at bay on every available occasion, and HDTV Donovan calmly snuffed an attempted steal of third on a nice throwdown. Chan carried a shutout into the final inning—5 Ks and 2 BBs—for her first complete game of the season.
On Saturday, Grandma Ming took the circle for her WCSA pitching debut to lead That One Team in its first matchup with the Berry Best Bobcats. With cousin Ka-Ming behind the dish, Grandma delivered the first of many first-pitch strikes to come, forced one ground-out to HDTV and fielded another to set That One Team’s competitive tone. Great patience at the plate and stolen bases defined the first inning for both squads—Kaiya opened the game with a hot single, and 5 batters later Otter Pop Lane smacked a high pitch over SS to drive in two. Saja took the circle in inning two and made it tough for 12 Bobcat batters for the final 3 frames—8 Ks, 3 BBs, 0 hits. With the score knotted and 2 outs into the second, Chan knocked a liner to start a mini-rally—4 pitches later she stole home, followed by Grandma and Mougalicious. (Chan’s fourth-inning double had a nice trajectory, too.) Later innings saw RBIs on grounders up the middle from HDTV and Fearless Freeman, whose bat brought E-Three Cheatham (her patience earned three walks) in from 3B. Not a bad day—Every One Girl scored or knocked Another One Girl in. We’re slowly getting fairly close to pretty decent...more work to come.
On to Santa Rosa on Monday—praying for sunshine and sticky gloves.

4/15 Stealth game news vs. Mark West...
A calm Thursday night at Analy was the setting for a much anticipated match up that saw the Stealth facing a Mark West squad with 8 travel ball players on the roster. With the field looking absolutely flawless thanks to the Stealth's ground crew the girls would be asked to defend the home field. On defense in the first inning Maddi Harbarth would scoop a roller to second for an out and Taylor Christy would strikeout the next 2 to end a harmless first. Little did we know then that it was a forecast of the next 6 innings. Scoring early is our goal, we want to have the lead to keep the lead. Maddi Harbarth would work a walk, loot second and third and score on Haley Millericks single to center with a hard slide right over the bat. Only 1 in the first but a good start. T-Minus 99 would strikeout the next 10 hitters in order protecting the 1-0 lead. A lot of strike watching took over for the Stealth hitters in the 2nd inning and to start the 3rd. Gillian Halpin would beat out a infield hit with pure hustle down the line. Mark West's pitchers chose to hit Taylor with a pitch instead of facing her putting speed on the bases in the 3rd with 2 outs. The bases would end up loaded with a Maddi walk and another Haley M. single. Katrina Kuhn would come up in the early seasons biggest at bat. Bases loaded 2 outs with a 1-0 lead. Katrina would sent a soft liner to right for a 2 run single giving the Stealth a 3-0 lead. The lead would swell to 5-0 as Lacy Colin and Megan Halpin got into the hit parade with singles of their own driving in runs. Haley Jackson would get her first taste of the bases after taking a hard fastball to the leg. The pitcher & catcher combination was again just too much for the opposition.
A 5-0 lead might as well have been a 20-0 lead. Haley Millerick controls
the pitches and the game. Lacy, Maddi, Katrina, and Gillian around the
infield allow Taylor to do her thing. Her thing is a 1 hitter with 14 strikeouts and only 1 walk in 6 innings. Back to back shut out inter league wins brings a 2 game home stand starting Saturday against the Quicksilver.

4/10 That One Team with That One Girl – Game 3 News...
That One Team’s trek to Sonoma conjured as many mixed messages as the day’s weather report—spotty rain and a sluggish start gave way to some fabulous late plays in a cold wind, just not fab enough to seal a come-from-behind victory. Frozen bats through the first four innings, though Kaiya “Merciless” Ming, HDTV Donovan and Mougalicious came through with hits to prove to the crowd that the One Team was indeed conscious. A solid 4-2/3 innings in the circle from Saja Spearman Weaver with 9 Ks, 4 hits, and 2 walks—and confident relief from Ms. Mack E Chan in a tough effort to save. Down 4-1 in the 5th, That One Team cobbled together 5 runs from 4 walks, 2 hits (including a double from Merciless and a beat-it-out single from Grandma Ming), 5 stolen bases and a sacrifice line-shot from Breanna “Otter Pop” Lane. On the bright side, Lucy Bennett crossed the plate twice as a result of her heady play on the base paths, Fearless Freeman has put the ball in play in her last 5 trips to the plate, and Emily Cheatham found herself standing on 1B twice after 2 weeks on the sick list. Teaching moments a-plenty, but that’s why they put the beginning of the season at the beginning.
Hitters will hit and sliders will slide when Mark West arrives on Tuesday.

4/10 Stealth vs Sonoma game news...
Itching for some real game action, to which there is no substitute, the Stealth would head out on the road to Sonoma. The first road trip for many and old hat for others would see the Stealth with only the minimum 8 players. Primed and ready to go the weather would hold out for a dominating performance from the Stealth. Bats would speak up as pitches floated around the plate, a 15 run outburst would result. Haley Millerick would get a pair of hits including her second double of the year. Katrina Kuhn would add to her hot start to the season with 3 more hits. Taylor Christy would knock in runs with 3 hits of her own. The Halpin twins, Gillian and Megan would work the count for 6 walks and account for 7 stolen bases. Hennessee Bishop would get comfortable at the plate putting swings on slow pitches, netting her first hit with a solid single up the middle. Maddi Harbarth would continue to be one of the toughest outs around working her way on base any way possible and swiping 3 bags as well. Fantastic base coaching by Kevin and Joe led to every girl sliding safely on 19 stolen bases. Looking like a squad of mercenaries in the all black uniforms the Stealth would back up the offensive assault with Taylor Christy throwing a NO HITTER with 13 K's and only 2 balls put in play as harmless pop up outs. Haley Millerick would be equally as good behind the plate squeezing third strikes, calling all the pitches, and not letting anything get by. A 15-0 No Hit win vs. Sonoma served notice that the Stealth are a force to be reckoned with. Mark West comes to town on Thursday night.

4/10 Berry Best Bobcats fall to Sonoma 2 team...
The Bobcats lost their second game to a lackluster but sound Sonoma team this past Saturday but not without a fight. The Bobcats woke up in the second inning with guidance of pitcher Maren Powers. Throwing to Erin Eck, Maren maintained her composure the entire game to prove to herself and the team that she’s here to play. After falling behind substantially due to more early season jitters and errors, the Bobcats hunkered down and started to play ball. Defensive plays such as Lexi Harris’ without hesitation snagging of a drive to right field fired the Cats up. Center fielder Sami McMillan halted another line shot which passed to the outfield to keep the runner at 1st. Setting the stage for hitting, Erin Eck said Hello in a big way by drilling hard shots through the infield each time up at bat. “Most every girl got their bat on the ball today, and this is exactly what we want to see at this part of the season!” Power hitter Crystal Gevas, aside from playing great first base, struck-out once which made her mad enough to absolutely rip one into the outfield her last time up. Shale Klunis consistently stroked the ball three times and with good seasoned base running came all the way around for three runs. Most of the Cats runs were the result of awesome line drive strikes by Kelsi Roman and Jessa Rodriguez. I’m looking forward to seeing these two girls reach their potential. And then, just when you thought she might be getting down on herself because of an error, Lindsay Fowler’s look of determination and focus caused a line shot into the field, giving her team two RBIs. “It was great day for the girls and their bats, I was really happy with McKenna Flory who, even though absent from Easter break batting sessions, driven to shine put her bat on the ball enabling her to get around the bases and reach home plate”. We are so impressed with this team. In both of our opening games, these girls stayed with it, believed in themselves and their mates and played till the end. Their concentration and try just keeps on growing as the games go on. This week we saw that if they make a mistake, they are smart enough to leave it lay and determined to move on to better Play!
--Coach Matt
4/7 Sebastopol’s Berry Best BobCats...
Thanks to Coach Heil for sharing his practice field yesterday by inviting the Bobcats to scrimmage. Though many girls were missing from the lineups due to Spring break (especially from the Bobcats) all the girls gained from having each of the teams coaching staff helping them with game situations. Scrimmages like this between our home teams really serve West County Softball Association’s mission statement well in developing our girls for future softball play at Analy and ElMolino. The Bobcats were grateful for the opportunity to scrimmage yesterday and thank the Quicksilver organization. Roll on West County Softball!!
--Coach Matt
4/6 Sebastopol’s Berry Best BobCats...
Bobcats started with a loss against Coach Heil’s QuickSilver team and rained out against Ronn’s Stealth team. The girls have been busting it out physically and mentally to get primed for the balance of their season. Our roster includes the following girls: Catcher and utility – Erin Eck, 1st base and catcher Crystal Gevas, Pitcher and second baseman - Maren Powers, Pitcher and Left field - McKenna Flory, 3rd base and Pitch – Shale Klunis, Greenhorn shortstop Kelsi Roman, 2nd base and Left field – Lindsay Fowler, Right field and 1st base – Lexi Harris, Center field – Sami McMillan, Center field and 3rd base – Jessa Rodriguez. Keep an eye out for the BobCats, they may strike when you're not expecting it!

4/5 That One Team with That One Girl – Week One Game News...
Don’t know who That One Team with That One Girl is? You better ask somebody, baby. Week One 2010 found That One Team freshly geared, charged and focused for a tough challenge. Mackenzie “Mack E Chan” Evangelisti, Kaiya Ming, Madison Moug, and Madison “Grandma” Ming all smacked balls into play in Game One against the toughest pitching they’re likely to see this season. The week included notable West County debuts for Lucy Bennett, Cheyenne Freeman and Breanna Lane—strong cuts in the batter’s box and smart play in the field that looked anything but rookie. Saja Spearman Weaver and Ms. Chan took turns in the circle this week, collecting a bagful of strikeouts to show that hard work in the off-season pays dividends. The crowd enjoyed solid fundamental play at the hot corner from Harriett “HDTV” Donovan, while fleet Emily Cheatham’s bunting looks like it’s gonna cause some headaches for opposing infielders.
Applicable Adjectives: Aggressive - Fearless Freeman goes 3-for-3 at the plate in the second game of her career. Patient – Kaiya Ming walks three times on Thursday and comes through thrice to score. Willing – Mack E Chan slides full force at every opportunity—she’d slide into the dugout if there were any strategic advantage.
Strong start to a promising season—on to Sonoma April 10 then back home against Mark West April 13.

3/27 Opening Day 12-under Stealth game news...
Another opening day, always a special day. Lots of nervous tension from the younger players mixed with excitement and readiness from the veterans. The Stealth would see their first game in Prime time at 6pm on Saturday night. Closing the opening day show brought out large crowds for both teams. As the home team the Stealth would take the field first giving Taylor Christy a chance to do her thing. With total confidence in catcher Haley Millerick behind the plate Taylor would strike out the side in order to get it started allowing the defense to relax at the outset. Getting off to a good start at the plate is key Taylor Christy would lead off with a single her first of 3 hits on the day. Steals of both second and third would follow. Haley Millerick would need only 1 pitch to do her damage, HOMERING on the first pitch she saw in 2010, she would later add a double.
Maddi Harbarth would work a walk and steal her way around the bags for another run giving the Stealth a 3 run first. More strikeouts followed throughout the game. Taylor would end up striking out 18 batters on the day in a six inning game. Nervousness on defense was to be expected with a younger infield this season, as a group they played well in limited chances to field balls. Gillian Halpin was able to field two hot shots to second base cleanly. Katrina Kuhn would get into the hitting act as well chipping in with 2 hits of her own. A great job at the plate by Irene Long as she launched a double in her first at bat and a single in her third, a 2 hit day in her first 12-Under game isn't bad at all. As a group the Stealth were prepared and ready to play, a solid month of 3 day a week practices showed from top to bottom. Getting a win on opening day is key to a good season. Watch for big things from the Stealth girls as the season moves on. Next up Monday 3/29 6pm at Analy.
